Two dead, six missing after boat capsizes near Nagpur

first_imgTwo persons died and six others went missing after a boat capsized on the Vena river in Nagpur district of Maharashtra on Sunday evening.According to some officials from Kalmeshwar Tahsil office, eight young boys from Nagpur had gone to Vena river near Chichbhavan village of Kalmeshwar Taluka for a picnic on Sunday.Three local villagers, who provided the boat to these boys, were also on the boat when the accident took place. When the boat capsized, all three villagers managed to swim to safety, but the boys could not swim.”Two dead bodies have been recovered and six others are still missing. We fear that these boys also drowned but we will have to wait for the recovery of their bodies,” informed a police sub inspector posted at Kalmeshwar police station.One of the deceased  boys was identified as Rahul Jadhav, a resident of Wadi area of Nagpur.Search and rescue operations are on to find the missing boys.last_img
