Northern Metalic Flyers take two of three over weekend

first_imgThe Fort St. John Northern Metalic Flyers were on the ice looking to keep their flawless record in tact. While the team did suffer their first loss of the year they still won two of the three games they played in as their record now stands at 9-1-0.The loss came in their first game of the weekend against the Strathcona Warriors. The teams were knotted up at two after the opening 20 minutes but the Warriors took the lead as the second concluded at 5-3. There was no scoring in the third.The Flyers had themselves a big game against Camrose on Saturday. The Flyers got out to a 1-0 in the opening period, and had a big second frame where they scored five goals to lead 6-0. The Bulldogs got two of their own in the third before the Flyers got a seventh marker to round out the scoring.- Advertisement -Sunday’s game against the Leduc Roughnecks resulted in another convincing win for the Flyers. They held a 4-1 lead after two periods of play and added another tally in the third to win 5-1.The next league games for the team are scheduled for November 28 and 29 at home against Whitecourt.last_img
