first_imgShyam Sasindran told Loop PNG via WhatsApp that the KF1 Rookie race which is meant for ages between 14 to 19 years was very challenging.“I was a very new drive just 20 sessions of practice not everyone could have done that.“At first, I felt like I was scared and that I was going to lose because I had no practice with my competitors in the race day because a kart banged into me and in qualifying, ended up 19 on the grid out of 20.“And in the quarter finals, I was still on 19 position. And also in pre-finals I was in 19 position but in the finals I completed the race which many other race drivers did not complete due to crashes and skies onto the barrier and because of the very light rain shower,” says ShyamYoung Shyam added that he still completed the race and came fifth. “Many other drivers banged on to me on the side of the kart and also skied onto me.“I felt like I was really terrified and scared that I was about to stop but I thought for a second why should I stop unless there is a problem with the  kart and I was not waved a penalty flag because I never crashed into them but they crashed into me,” Shyam said.Shyam  is the son of West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel.Governor Muthuvel thanked Lord Krishna for his protection on his son and for rewarding him an award.“I am proud of you my son Shyam Sasindran, although he participated for the first time, you came within first 5 in the race in Singapore and got an award, thank you for flying our flag high and representing PNG,” said Muthuvel.last_img
