first_imgThe victorious St Eunan’s U13 girlsTHERE was a festival of finals across the county as the U13 Championship Sunday saw no less than five deciders today.St Eunan’s, Na Dunaibh, Glenswilly, Red Hughs and Killybegs girls were all celebrating victories.First up in the county b final St Eunan’s took on Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon in perfect conditions in Glenfin. It was the Aodh Ruadh who took an early lead in a closely contested first ten minutes but the Eunan’s girls soon settled and led well at the break with Sinead McIntyre outstanding in the back line, Caoimhe Kelly and Niamh Harkin running midfield and full forward Shannon Cunningham netting consistently up front.It was more of the same in the second half as Eunan’s ran out comfortable winners.Na Dunaibh girls were crowned county c championsN Colmcille in Newtowncunningham was the venue for the pairing of Downings and St Naul’s in the c final.It was a closely contested first half with little to separate the teams. But Na Dunaibh with captain Lauren McBride leading by example pushed on in the second half to win comfortably against the Mountcharles girls.The Glenswilly U13s were d champions todayFour Masters was the venue for the remaining three finals, with the host club taking on Glenswilly in the first game in the D final.Fair play to Glenswilly, who gave up a neutral venue to take on the challenge – and their sporting gesture was rewarded with a fine ‘away’ win.Imogen Hards and Blathnait Gallagher were in superb form and helped drive on a fantastic team effort against Four Masters.Red Hughs U13s won the E titleNext up in Donegal Town was the clash of Red Hughs and N Columba. Both teams can boast players on the county academy teams but it was one of them who proved the difference as Aimee Callaghan hit a stunning 2-05 on their way to a good victory.Manager Maura McCrudden said afterwards she was so proud of taking the club’s first ever ladies county title back to the Red Hughs clubhouse this afternoon.The victorious Killybegs team – county f winnersLastly – and as it turned out – not leastly, was the incredible clash of Killybegs and St Mary’s Convoy.St Mary’s dominated the early proceedings and led at one stage by 12 points.
