first_img2017 Southland Conference Soccer Week 11 Notes (PDF)After spending three weeks deadlocked atop the league standings, Lamar finally separated last Sunday with a win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and a McNeese loss at Houston Baptist. With last weekend’s results, LU will claim sole possession of the title with a win or tie in its last regular season matchup against McNeese. If McNeese wins, the two will be named co-champions. • Last In: The final seed in the Southland tournament will be decided by the outcomes of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi-HBU and Nicholls-Southeastern Louisiana matchups. The Islanders will clinch the No. 8 seed with a win/tie and a Southeastern win/tie. Nicholls will take the eighth spot with a win and an Islanders win; the Colonels can also clinch with a tie and an A&M-Corpus Christi tie. The lone scenario which sees the Lady Lions grab the last spot is a win coupled with an Islanders loss. • National Rankings: Lamar’s Kelso Peskin is tied for second in the nation with 10 assists in all games. She helps pace the Cardinals to a league-high 23 assists in 10 conference games. McNeese’s Savannah LaRicci ranks 13th in the nation with 29 total points in overall play. Against Southland opponents, she has tallied five multi-point games.
