first_imgFORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Northeast BC Yukon Trackers are looking to improve upon the progress that they made against the Prince George Tier 1 Midget Cougars last weekend, despite the difference on the scoreboard. After losing the first game at the Pomeroy Sports Centre last Saturday 5-1, coach David Johnston says that the Trackers outplayed last year’s provincial championship team for 40 minutes in game two. After being tied 1-1 for two periods, the Trackers gave up three goals in 4 minutes in the third period. Sadly the team wasn’t able to regain momentum and ultimately lost 4-1.In spite of this, Johnston says that the Trackers didn’t take the easy way out by playing against a weaker team to start the year, and have been practising all week on defensive end plays in order to help the players avoid having a defensive collapse again.- Advertisement -The Trackers will be playing against the Tier 1 Cougars tomorrow and Sunday in Prince George.last_img read more
