His work has created much needed employment with a welcome knock-on boost for the local economy. His multi-faceted involvement in the Irish language field was rightly recognized when he was presented with the 2013 ‘Donegal Person of the Year’ at the beginning of March. With huge crowds expected for the North West 10k the committee is encouraging as many people as possible to pre-enter from Tuesday evening of next week at Letterkenny Community Centre.A Portacabin office will be open beside the Centre from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday 29th, Wednesday 30th, Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd while it will be 3 – 6 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.Sponsorship cards are still available from the Letterkenny Chamber to support the two main benefiting charities the Letterkenny Branch of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland and the Conwal Parish Church Restoration Committee. A number of other associated charities will also benefit by their association with the North West 10k. The Chamber office is located at Grand Central Complex, Canal Road opposite the Retail Park (tel number 9124866.A traffic management plan will be in place on the day. There will be some disruption to traffic for a period in the afternoon so motorists and the general public are asked to be patient and cooperate with the instructions of the Gardai and stewards.
